Kurtin began practice in Plano, Texas, specializing in correcting vision for people with cornea problems. He established Kurtin Vision Specialists in 2016, located in the Methodist Doctor's building off the Dallas Tollway in Addison, Texas. This facility is devoted to treating complex vision issues, corneal disorders, and severe dry eye conditions. Education
Dr. Kurtin completed his undergraduate education at Michigan's Ferris State University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Biology, complemented by studies in Psychology. He then attained his Doctorate of Optometry at the prestigious University of Houston Eye Institute four years later. His specialized training focuses on restoring vision impacted by conditions like corneal compromise, Keratoconus, complications from RK or Lasik surgeries, astigmatism, and managing myopia progression in children. Additionally, Dr. Kurtin collaborates with specialty eyeglass labs to treat visual processing and eye tracking issues using his trademarked NeuroSight Lenses. Research During the late 1980s, Dr. Kurtin served as a clinical investigator for Bausch & Lomb's BiTech soft lens, which was among the earliest soft bifocal contact lenses in the world. In the 1990s, he developed and trademarked the MultiFokus progressive gas permeable contact lens. Entering the 2000s, Dr. Kurtin became one of the pioneers certified by the FDA to offer Orthokeratology and Paragon CRT treatments. His research extends to the development of innovative eyeglass lens designs. He also conducts informal clinical trials to validate marketing claims made by various optical companies. Dr. Kurtin is also a key member of a network of affiliated ophthalmologists, providing surgical care for patients with retina, cornea, or cataract issues. Public Review
