Kurtin opened The Kurtin Eye Center in Plano, Texas. This facility was acquired by his associate doctors. Dr. Kurtin then took time off to volunteer at medical outreach centers helping underserved people needing eye care in Dallas-Fort Worth communities.
In 2015, he opened Kurtin Vision Specialists inside Methodist Doctor's building off the Dallas Tollway in Addison, Texas. This practice is mostly devoted to people with severe vision problems typically from compromised corneal issues. Dr. Kurtin graduated from Michigan's Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology and work in Psychology. Four years later, he attained the Doctorate of Optometry degree (O.D.) at the prestigious University of Houston Optometry school in Houston, Texas. This Doctor is specially trained to restore vision due to corneal disease, RK or Lasik issues, irregular astigmatism, near focus problems and myopia progression. Dr. Kurtin works with educators to detect visual processing and tracking issues in children to facilitate reading and comprehension. Research In the late 1980's, Dr. Kurtin was a clinical investigator for Bausch & Lomb's BiTech soft lens - one of the world's first soft bifocal contact lens. In the 1990's, Dr. Kurtin trademarked his MultiFokus progressive gas permeable contact lens. Patients prescribed with various Scleral & Soft Contact Lens types provide critical feedback for desiging lenses with improved vision and comfort.
