Dr. Kurtin did post graduate education for advanced training and certification to care for people suffering with Keratoconus, Post-LASIK, RK, and Irregular Astigmatism vision problems. Fitting certifcations include Refractive Therapy, per the FDA, Synergeyes ClearKone for improving vision, Wavefront HD and Macro Gas Permeable lens designs to minimize visual distortions.
Dr. Kurtin is currently researching 'Riboflavin Cross-Linking,' to help stablize vision especially Keratoconus. This also may prove useful for Ortho-K and Refractive Therapy(CRT)patients.
" I am very grateful to the many people who travel here to see us from all over to get help with their vision." Dr. Kurtin
Treating Presbyopia
Dr. Kurtin is a leading expert in Presbyopia treatment-- an age related condition causing close vision to blur. In the late 1980's he was a clinical researcher for Bausch & Lomb's first soft Bifocal Contact Lens designs (Bi-Tech) comparing it with Ciba Vision's Spectrum Bifocal. In the 1990's, he developed and trademarked the MultiFokus(R) Lens. In the 2000's he studied the 'see clearly method' to improve vision. Current work is with Soft Astigmatic Bifocal lenses.
Dr. Kurtin successfully treats Presbyopia using Refractive Therapy, a FDA approved vision correction, that can eliminate the need for daytime contacts or glasses.
The doctors at The Kurtin Eye Center can also offer surgical options to treat Presbyopia with select eye surgeons. Crystalens eye exercises, performed in-office, after surgery, has helped people maximize their 'new' vision.

The Kurtin Eye Center has won many awards for 'Best Doctor' in Collin County by Community Newspapers--and picked by The Consumer's Research Council in Washington D.C. as one of America's Top practices. In 1999, Dr. Kurtin was invited and entered the National Registry of Who's Who in American Health Care.
