Eye exams detect for issues affecting your precious eyesight. Our eye exams for adults & children include auto-refraction with Corneal mapping-- This virtually eliminates the guess out of deciding which lens to choose when determing your eyeglass prescription. Eye exams also include eye muscle, 3-D vision, color vision, and external and internal eye health evaluations looking for a variety of eye problems.

Try our Futura Vision Exam. This uses 'Aberration' technology that reads the prescription from your eyes clearing distortions. Then computerized choices are given to determine your best eyesight!

This optional screening goes beyond the standard exam and uses advanced technology to detect for issues causing vision loss:

• The i-Vue Ocular Screen:  This looks for subtle Macula changes--  the part of Retina, inside the eye, where your 'line of sight' focuses upon.  Advised for people with vision changes or having focusing problems.
   
• The OptoMap  Retinal Screen:  Enjoy your exam without dilating drops (in most cases). This scans the Retina for abnormalities affecting your entire vision. Great for children! 
  
  
• The Automated Visual Field Screen: This looks for peripheral field problems due to Retinal detachments, Brain or Optic nerve issues. Advised if you have floaters or headaches!

Hi Definition Soft Lenses: Just like High Definition television, these lenses are designed to make your vision as crisp and clear as possible. Try a pair after your exam, and really 'see' for yourself.

Bifocal Contact Lenses:

You may need bifocals, but hate the idea of wearing glasses all the time. The eye doctors here are trained using the latest advancements in bifocal contact lenses-- designs to fit just about everyone. Dr. Kurtin even trademarked a lens called The Multifokus (R) during the 1990's being fit across the United States.

Synergeyes: 'Restore your vision...'

These are for people who want the comfort of 'soft' contacts, and have crisp, sharp vision. Great for people who have 'tried just about everything.'   They can be fit for post-corrective surgery issues, mild to severe Keratoconus, astigmatism and those with frequent vision changes.

DreamLens CRT: Helps keep vision from changing

Wave Contact Lenses:

When images come throught your eyes, and you look out-- parts of the image can be distorted resulting poor vision.  These eyes can now be corrected with lenses that 'match' the various curves on the surface of your eyes.

WaveLens fitting uses a Wavefront Topographer that takes a 'Corneal fingerprint' of your eyes' front surface...

Children's Eye Care

We are children friendly and really try to make it fun during the visit. We believe better learning is a direct result in how the eyes work. Many educators, occupational therapists and others in the community refer to us if 'slow' focus or 'tracking' are suspect in low academic performance.

Vision Therapy can help improve the eyes ability to function. This helps in reading comprehension, memory and sports related activity.

Glaucoma Exams, Diagnosis & Treatment

The Kurtin Eye Center was one of the first Dallas practices to install the GDx Nerve Fiber Analyzer. FDA approved in 2002, this tells us years in advance your probability of developing Glaucoma--a blinding eye disease. Today the GDx is replaced by the i-Vue CT Scan. The doctors here can prescribe the latest anti-glaucoma medications to protect your eyesight.
 

Retinal & Macula Eye Exams

Computerized testing looks for nerve problems causing field of vision issues. Macula degeneration, brain tumors, and retinal problems often show up using these tests. Ask for a preventative field screen at the time of your exam! Just $22.

Optomap Retinal Exams sees the inside part of your eyes---without dilation. This is useful in diabetic eye exams and people with family history of eye disease. Ask for a preventative Optomap screen at the time of your exam! Just $43.
 

Treatment for Eye Disease, Allergy & Dry Eyes

Medication, like FreshKote can be prescribed, if you suffer with dry eyes. Eye infections are treated with the most modern, and cost effective, medicines available. Homeopathic remedies, if more appropriate, may also be recommended depending on your needs.

'Pink eye' is a common problem and must be treated early, so not to contaminate other people. If you notice any unusual eye discharge, redness or pain--- we can usually see you the same day! Give us a call!
