Eye Exams For School

Slow 'focusing' and 'tracking' often go undetected resulting in poor learning skills. The eye doctors here look for these things during the eye exam. The Kurtin Eye Center can also provide vision 'exercises' or eyeglasses proven to help children succeed in school... and improve attention.

Medical Eye Care & Treatment

Glaucoma, eye allergies, dry eyes, crusty eyelids, light sensitivity issues and headaches from vision are treated here by certified eye doctors. Diabetics are advised to have eye exams at least every year.

Newer medications for dry eyes, like FreshKote(R) and Restasis (R) can be prescribed for severe dry eyes. Alrex(R) or Bepreve(R) are great for eyes affected by allergies. All medical treatment options can be discussed at your eye exam.

Vision versus Medical Insurance: Which do you use?

VISION:  This is used for routine exams, and medically necessary contact lenses.
VSP**, EyeMED**, VisionONE, Coast-2-Coast, & FlexSpend

**If you are found to have Keratoconus, irregular astigmatism or high prescription, these plans usually have 'medically necessary' benefits to cover most of the exam, fitting, supply of contact lenses and follow-up.

MEDICAL: Use this for non-routine exams-- red, dry, itchy eyes or eye disease.*
